Ralph is a native of Oregon and has spent much of his adult life studying western history. This enthusiasm resulted in publications of maps and photographs for the western states. A marriage in later life to Monte Jackson Preston expanded this effort. The research of the early trails and the westward movement of the pioneers has been an exciting endeavor for both. One which hopefully will be shared by the readers of this publication. The Prestons currently live in Albany, Oregon where they each continue to pursue their individual interests. Both have a love of nature and the abundant wildlife near their home. Painting in watercolor is Monte's first love, followed closely by flower gardening. Ralph's love of history takes them on many trips in search of material for his next book.
